Christmas Bazaar success raises in excess of £1,200.
Our member Geraldine Amos very kindly opened up her home to host a Christmas Bazaar to raise funds for the centre as her way of saying thank you to the very kind drivers who escort her to the therapy centre on a regular basis. Geraldine lives in Codford and had all her friends and family helping on the day. Geraldine said 'I loved having my house full of children, running around and laughing. The stall holders worked really hard and were all such good fun. I had tremendous help from so many people to include Mike Davidson and Mary Trimarco who both worked extremely hard with the preparation. The very kind Sue Watts made a wonderful Christmas cake that raised so much for the 'Guess the Weight of the Cake' competition. Thank you to everybody who helped and who came on the day.'
And thank you Geraldine it was a fantastic success and I know everyone really enjoyed the day. Happy Christmas.

Tony Jones raised £590 by depriving himself of his favourite chocolate!
One of our members who could not participate in the Smiles for Miles sponsored walk wanted to raise some funds for the centre and so went on a chocolate diet. Tony is renowned for his love of chocolate bourbons and chocolate Buttons and so he set out to have a 'chocolate free November'. He supplemented his diet with copious amounts of rice, peas, onions and bacon and he managed to survive the month and lose a few pound along the way. However the pounds in weight he lost he made up for in money by raising a magnificent £590 in sponsorship. Thank you to everyone who sponsored him and thank you Tony - will our biscuit tin ever be full again?...
Suzie Gye Completes Melbourne Marathon...

Sea Swim raises £1,051.85
One of the Centre's biggest supporters is Andy Springham who organises his own fundraising event once a year in order to raise funds for the Centre. In August Andy swam from Bournemouth Pier to Boscombe Pier and it took him just over an hour. Andy said 'I wanted to complete the sea swim in under an hour but unfortunately the tide was against us and it took an hour and five minutes to swim the 1.4 miles from one pier to the other. A very big thank you goes out to Andy (a long time friend of Heather Garey) who raised a fantastic £1,051.85 in sponsorship for our Centre.
Sponsored Sky Dive raises over £6,000!
Huge congratulations and our very warmest thanks goes to Mary Trimarco, Mike Park, Heather Garey, Pippa Roberts and Viorica Boitor who between them raised over £6,000 for completing their tandem skydives in the summer. Mary said she really, really enjoyed herself and would happily do it all again next year. The weather was much kinder this time and Mary, Mike and Heather were all up in the skies in the early evening and jumped through a cloudless sky. Viorica managed to complete her jump a little later in the summer with Pippa offering all the support she could from the ground. If there are any other brave souls who would like to take to the skies for charity please call our manager Rosie (01985 217728) who will be happy to help.

Prestbury Sports Bar Quiz Night
A big thank you to Nick and all his team for hosting a quiz night in order to raise money for the centre. Nick recently suffered a severe ankle and leg injury during a game of football and he was encouraged to use our oxygen therapy facilities to speed up his recovery. Nick was so pleased with his progress and happy to make so many new friends that he decided to hold the event to raise much needed funds.
