Major Andy's Marathon 30-mile lockdown challenge!
WOW! Major Andy Johnston has completed his 30-mile marathon, raising nearly £2,000 for Wessex MS Therapy Centre.
Former Coldstream Guards officer, Major Andrew Johnston, who has been dependent on a wheelchair for over 25 years, completed his lockdown challenge and more. Andy was medically discharged from the Army in 1996 after 20 years’ service, having contracted MS. Inspired by Captain Tom Moore, Andy wheeled the 26 miles and 385 yards of the marathon distance and then spent another week extending it to 30 miles. He wheeled 1,000 yards each day in his 10 yard-long kitchen/family room using his NHS provided wheelchair. Well done Andy!
