Covid-19 forces closure of Therapy Centre from Friday March 20th

20 Mar 2020

Following the recent COBRA meeting and the Government/Scientific/Medical Advice regarding COVID-19 we are having to respond quickly to the changing situation. We have made the difficult decision to close the Centre for the time-being from 2pm on Friday 20th March, but we want to reassure you that we will still be on hand to offer support to those of you who are most in need. Most of you fit into the category where you are at higher risk and are being asked to self-isolate for three months.  We will offer:

  • A regular telephone call to check-in and see if you need anything

  • Remote exercise sessions via Facebook

  • Emergency support

Best Wishes,

Richard Southwell, Chairman.

Volunteers Wanted

03 Feb 2020

We are looking for volunteers who would like to work in our Three Horseshoes shopping centre charity shop. This is a lovely job in a friendly and fun environment with an easy till and not too much lifting. If you, or someone you know would like to talk to Carol Coates about the possibility of having a look around the shop and learning more about the role please call her on 01985 217728 – this is a great social opportunity for anyone looking to get out more…

Book Club

03 Feb 2020

Do you ever worry about your memory? Is MS Fog getting on your wick? At the National MS conference last year Professor Dawn Langdon said that one of the best ways to keep your brain active is to join a book club. She said reading a book was good, joining a book group to discuss a book was better and joining a creative writing class was brilliant. So, we are going to start with a book club. It will be run by one of our members, Christine Heron, and this months book is THE SALT PATH by Raynor Winn. Everyone is invited and don’t worry if you haven’t finished the book in time, or in fact read it, Christine is happy if you just want to come along and listen to the discussion.

The next meet up is on Thursday 27th February 2020 at 2pm.  Pop along for a cuppa and a chat.
